The fire consumed him, but the boy wouldn’t burn.
The floor beneath contorted to eventually cave into a black mess of ruined wood — the personality of a children’s bedroom collapsing into flames.
His Teddy burned. Little cars melted. But not him, no.
He didn’t burn.
